SynqNet®
SynqNet is an all-digital motion control interface for connections between controllers and drives. The physical layer of SynqNet is based on IEEE 802.3 standards for 100Base-TX, the physical layer of Ethernet. The data link and application layers of SynqNet are specifically designed for motion control applications. The 100BASE-TX media system is based on specifications published in the ANSI TP-PMD physical media standard. The 100BASE-TX system operates over two pairs of wires, one pair for 'receive' data signals and the other pair for 'transmit' data signals.
SynqNet is a high performance network technology designed to simplify machine development and manufacture, and lower the cost of in-field support and upgrade.
SynqNet replaces the noise-prone analog drive - motion controller interface (10V + Encoder) with a real-time digital network that brings additional diagnostic, performance and reliability benefits to a machine.
SynqNet was developed in response to customer demand and the lack of any other openly available solution. As a result SynqNet is the only motion control network that offers all of the following:
• Centralized software and control with distributed hardware
• Choice of motor/drive vendors
• Fault tolerant operation using dual redundant data path
• Support for up to 32 coordinated axes
• Network bandwidth for torque updates up to 48kHz (4axes)
• Remote diagnostics of motor drive performance
• Remote drive configuration and setup
• Remote upgrade of drive firmware features
• Support for multiple feedback, dual-loop servo control, compensation tables
• Automatic network configuration and integrity check
• Cabling over 100 Meters between each node
• Electrical isolation for robust noise immunity
• Open, field-proven silicon (100baseT physical layer)
• Cost effective design
Trust Automation offers several lines of SynqNet products, designed and manufactured with the same attention to detail and quality you’d expect from any of our products. As with all our standard product line, customization is an option depending on the unique requirements of your business. Please see Custom Solutions for details.
