CNN
Problem:
CNN Headline News Sudios, in Atlanta, needed to perform complex motion profiles with a 70 pound camera shuttle. Installation needed to proceed in an active "24-hour News Cycle" studio in less than five months.
Project Specifics:
Feature requirements:
• Single Shuttle, Dual Controllers, in Dual Studios
• Hand and Foot Motion Controls
• 3rd Party Controller Board
• Custom Interface Boards (Shuttle & Controller)
• Shuttle Speed 1+ Meter/Second Across 150 Feet of Travel
• Mechanical Platform to Handle 70lb Shuttle
• Quiet Configuration
• Programmable Move-Profiles
Solution:
Trust Automation delivered a newly designed mechanical shuttle with Pan/Tilt and Zoom/Focus controls. The new shuttle design, along with its dual-studio controllers, allowed CNN Headline News to create complex profiles for opening and closing shots during news segments, in either of two adjoining studios. The new design drew from existing designs previously implemented by Trust Automation.

The Trust Factor:
Because Trust Automation had already engineered and delivered an earlier generation camera shuttle for TV Globo in San Paulo, Brazil, CNN Atlanta and Innovision Optics were able to count on Trust Automation to deliver within a short timeframe. Project obstacles, such as language barriers, tight scheduling, and active studio production were overcome with professional Project Management and Trust Automation's dedicated commitment to "Leaving no customer behind".
